About Us Plantations et Huileries du Congo (PHC) regrets to report a tragic accident that occurred this Monday, March 18, 2024 involving one of the PHC partners' trucks responsible for transporting employees to the Yaligimba site, in the Mongala province.
The driver of the truck, an employee of the company subcontracted by PHC, was driving at excessive speed on the road leading to Ebobi division. While approaching a bend, he lost control of the vehicle, which overturned.
All those involved in this accident were quickly taken to PHC Yaligimba Hospital for treatment. Unfortunately, one of the workers, Mr. Gédéon Mbangana, died from injuries caused by this accident. PHC presents its most sincere condolences to Mr. Mbangana’s family.
PHC would like to emphasize that the safety of its employees and all those who participate in its activities is of the utmost importance. The company is working closely with the relevant authorities to investigate this incident and understand the circumstances of this tragedy in detail. This will make it possible to take the necessary measures to prevent this type of incident and further guarantee the safety of employees.
