The communities of Bongulu in Mongala Province now have access to Clean Water thanks to PHC

In rural areas of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, access to safe drinking water remains a daily challenge. Every day, thousands of families travel long distances to reach water sources that are often unsafe due to the lack of proper infrastructure. It is within this context that PHC recently inaugurated a new borehole in the Bongolu groupement, on the Yaligimba site, in Mongala Province.

Thanks to the new borehole, the people of Bongolu now have access to safe, high-quality drinking water that meets current health standards

This new borehole, developed as part of the social agreements signed with local communities, now provides the inhabitants of Bongolu with access to high-quality drinking water. Furthermore, the water from this borehole undergoes strict quality control, meeting current health standards.

“What the company is accomplishing here fills us with joy. Thanks to this borehole, we finally have access to safe drinking water without having to travel long distances. This will significantly improve our daily lives,” said Mr. Eugène Agbote, Chief of the Bongolu groupement.

The new borehole in Bongolu expands PHC’s large-scale water access program, already deployed across its three production sites in Yaligimba (Mongala Province), Lokutu (Tshopo Province), and Boteka (Equateur Province), to improve rural access to clean water. To date, PHC has installed 72 potable water boreholes across these sites, directly benefiting thousands of households
