Program

The vision of the PHC Community Development Program is to become the incubator of agribusiness in surrounding communities, to facilitate the creation of jobs and wealth alongside PHC and thus contribute to the creation of shared prosperity.

The Community Development Program is a five-year program (2021-2025) through which PHC aims to improve the standard of living of the populations surrounding its concessions through activities that will promote agricultural production, in accordance with the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly:

  • Goal 1 : End poverty in all its forms everywhere
  • Goal 2: End hunger, achieve food security, improve nutrition and promote sustainable agriculture
  • Goal 8: Promote sustained, inclusive and sustainable economic growth, full and productive employment and decent work for all
  • Goal 13 : Take urgent action to combat climate change and its impacts
  • Goal 15 : Preserve and restore terrestrial ecosystems, ensuring that they are used sustainably, sustainably manage forests, combat desertification, halt and reverse the process of soil degradation and put an end to the loss of biodiversity 

The CDP is based on three pillars:

To achieve these three pillars, the CDP intervenes along eight strategic axes

AXIS 1

Promote perennial crops
(cocoa, palm, fruit trees)

AXIS 2

Promote food crops
(Maize, Lantain, Cassava, Rice, Cowpea and Soy)

AXIS 3

Promote market gardening
(onion, chives, sweet potato, eggplant, pepper, cabbage)

AXIS 4

Promote small livestock
(chickens, goats and pigs)

AXIS 5

Promote fish farming and beekeeping
(fish and bees)

AXIS 6

Promote microcredit
(microfinance cooperative)

AXIS 7

Promote special agriculture
(vanilla, essential oils, black pepper and ginger)

AXIS 8

Build capacity
(OPA-organizations of agricultural producers)
