PHC engages in dialogue with community leaders in the Basoko territory at the Lokutu site

Kinshasa, 13/10/2022. Plantations et Huileries du Congo (PHC) organized a dialogue with the community leaders of the territory of Basoko to discuss and clarify certain recent changes in the internal management of the company, and to listen to concerns as well as suggestions concerning the implementation of the projects contained in the social clauses signed with communities. These concerns were recently raised by some members of the community.

Within the framework of PHC's proactive approach, on Wednesday, October 12th the company invited community leaders to take part in a dialogue to create a climate of understanding, trust and collaboration with all stakeholders in the territory.

Since 2021, the company has made significant strides in pursuing its vision of creating shared prosperity through agribusiness. As part of this vision, PHC implements various activities focused on creating economic opportunities for community members such as the promotion of food crops including cocoa, palm, and corn, among others. The company also supports small producers through the establishment of APOs (Agricultural Producers' Organizations). PHC also invests in human capital development through the construction of schools and basic infrastructure such as housing for employees. These initiatives are part of PHC's sustainability strategy, through which the company continues to connect with communities to ensure win-win approaches that contribute to solving challenges in the regions where the company operates.
