PHC mourns a recent death following a mob justice attack near its plantation

On the evening of July 13, 2022, three police officers assigned to Lolo police station, about 10 km from Yaligimba, went to PHC hospital with a dead body. When they arrived at the hospital, the police asked the nurses to resuscitate the individual; unfortunately, he had already passed away. PHC officers contacted the Lolo police station to collect the body and release it to the family.

The deceased was later identified as a native of the Lolo region, aged around XNUMX; according to information provided by the police commissioner of Lolo, he had been violently beaten by the local population in an act of mob justice after being caught in the act of stealing from an office.

PHC medical teams are always ready to help anyone who comes to company facilities asking for medical assistance and the company thanks the Lolo Police Division for doing everything they can to help the victim. PHC expresses its deepest condolences to the family of the deceased.

The company is concerned about the growing insecurity in its concession area, including the frequency of mob justice incidents. PHC will continue to provide appropriate medical care to all members of the community who come or are brought to its medical facilities and urges local authorities to do all they can to prevent mob justice cases from happening again.
